Prevention Starts With You.

Prevention is the focus, not just reaction.

Your body sends small signals before it becomes a bigger problem: Tightness, stiffness, recurring headaches, and poor sleep are often early warning signs.

Our initial consultation is designed to catch those signs early and build a plan around your daily life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here's what we usually get asked:

What does a chiropractor do?

Chiropractors are registered health practitioners who assess and manage conditions affecting the musculoskeletal system, including the spine, joints and muscles. At PHR, we take an individualised approach to care, combining hands-on treatment with advice and exercises where appropriate to help you move, function and feel your best.

What happens during my first chiropractic appointment?

Your first appointment is about understanding you and what brings you in. We'll discuss your concerns, health history and goals before carrying out an appropriate physical assessment. From there, we'll explain our findings and discuss suitable treatment options with you. Where appropriate, your first visit may include hands-on treatment and/or exercises.

Do I need to be in pain to see a chiropractor?

Not at all. Many people visit for preventative care to maintain healthy movement and posture before problems develop, not just to address existing pain.

Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?

No. You don't need a GP referral to see a chiropractor. You can book directly with us and we'll assess your needs during your appointment. If we feel another healthcare professional or further investigation is more appropriate, we'll discuss this with you.

How often will I need to see a chiropractor?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. The frequency of appointments depends on your individual presentation, goals, response to care and what you and your chiropractor decide is appropriate. Your care plan can be reviewed as you progress, rather than assuming you'll need a fixed number of appointments.

Do you accept private health insurance?

Yes! We accept private health insurance with HICAPS claiming available at our clinic. If your policy includes chiropractic cover, you may be able to claim your eligible rebate at the time of your appointment.

Your rebate will depend on your individual level of cover, so we recommend checking with your health fund before your appointment if you're unsure what you're covered for.

How We Structure Your Care

Step 1

Initial Consultation

We start with a thorough conversation about your health history, lifestyle and goals, followed by a full postural and movement assessment. This gives us a clear picture of where you're starting from and what preventative or ongoing care might look like for you.

Step 2

Report of Findings

At your ROF appointment, we walk you through what we found, explain our clinical reasoning in plain language, and outline the recommended care options available to you. Nothing is assumed — you'll have the chance to ask questions and decide what feels right before moving forward.

Step 3

Scheduled Care

Based on your goals, we'll agree on a care schedule together — whether that's a short-term focus or an ongoing preventative rhythm. Your plan is reviewed regularly and adjusted as your needs change.
